About Me //

I'm Jose Gratereaux. I live in the intersection of code and managing.

As a Software Engineer, my philosophy is centered on leading by example. I believe that the best leaders are those who stay close to the technical reality, maintaining a deep understanding of the challenges their teams face while fostering an environment of growth, accountability, and architectural excellence.

I specialize in building robust, scalable web and mobile solutions. With a deep passion for technology and a focus on developer experience, I spend my time exploring modern frameworks and best practices to ensure that every system we build is not just functional and scalable, but optimized for the long term.

My background spans full-stack development, with a particular love for backend architecture: Laravel, Nodejs, .Net Core, Python, Golang, JavaScript, TypeScript, SQL, Bash, and much more. I am technology-agnostic at heart; I believe in using the right tool for the specific problem, driven by a pure love for coding and problem-solving.

This blog is where I document my journey, share technical deep dives, and occasionally post about the leadership challenges of building software products in a fast-paced world.

Beyond the terminal, I practice Jiu Jitsu (Black Belt) and Karate (Purple Belt). I'm also a Scuba Diver, a new fan of Soccer, and a firm believer that while I don't like to cook, I absolutely love to eat and spend quality time with my family.

I am particularly driven by the opportunity to mentor and grow the next generation of engineers. For me, success isn't just about shipping code; it's about building high-performing teams where every individual feels empowered to contribute their best work. I strive to create a culture of continuous improvement, where 'breaking things' is seen as a necessary step toward building something better, faster, and more resilient.
